Do you ever feel like escaping to a galaxy far, far away, but only have the means to drive somewhere in K-town? Laserforce Kaiserslautern might just be the place for you.
Once you step into the equipment room, you can practically hear that epic Star Wars theme music play. While a statue of Yoda watches from the corner, you must decide just which side of the Force you want to fight on.
On my last visit with my husband, we chose the appropriate pairing of Han Solo and Chewbacca as our characters for our rounds of laser tag. Together we took on the duo of R2-D2 and C3PO out on the laser tag course.
You can play in large teams or in small duos. It depends on the number of players for each round. The course also plays off the Star Wars-theme with a Death Star you can shoot at for extra points.
Fair warning, though. Laserforce offers VIP memberships where people can pay a certain amount each month for unlimited games. That means that these players are scary good — Neil Patrick Harris in How I Met Your Mother good – and they will take you out. If it’s your first time, just think of these VIPs as inspiration for your future laser tagging self. If you are an experienced player, be ready to have some real competition.
While you can just show up to Laserforce (located inside the PRE Park), you can also go online and reserve your spot in a particular game.
Employees speak German and English and are able to offer helpful assistance in both languages. Play is available to everyone 10 years or older. Eight and 9-year-olds are allowed to play with written consent from parents.
May the Force be with you! Tell them Go-ktown send you.
